My Journey

The Beginning
My first experience with photography was as a student at LaGuardia Community College. One of my assignments was to go out into the city with a group of friends and photograph whatever we liked. I don't have any surviving prints from that time, but I remember enjoying developing photos in the darkroom.
Growing my Family
After school, I moved on with my life and pursued a career in accounting. Photography is an expensive hobby and I did not have the resources to pursue it at the time, spending hours commuting and earning a living. I met my husband , had kids, and devoted my life to raising them. We moved to the East End of Long Island when my daughter was young.

Finding Photography Again
On a trip to the Catskills to visit my husband's family, I was inspired by the beautiful natural landscape. I had my first digital Canon camera and snapped this shot of a dragonfly while walking around the yard. I realized that digital photographs could be beautiful and realized that I still had a passion for photography. From that moment on, I kept my camera on me wherever I went to capture nature on Long Island and beyond.
